Adonis Stevenson to face Don George as co-feature to Cloud vs. Pascal

It has been announced that the co-feature to the Tavoris Cloud vs. Jean Pascal light heavyweight title fight will be an intriguing super middleweight showdown between quick rising Adonis Stevenson, and highly regarded Don George. Both fights will be televised live on Showtime on Saturday, August 11.

In potentially the division’s best matchup in years between two young fighters in their prime, the undefeated Cloud (24-0, 19 KOs), of Tallahassee, Fla., will defend his IBF light heavyweight championship against former WBC belt-holder Pascal (26-2-1, 16 KOs), of Montreal, in the main event.

Knockout artists Stevenson (18-1, 15 KOs), of Montreal, and George (22-2-1, 19 KOs), of Chicago, will clash in a 12-round IBF title eliminator in the co-feature. The winner will become the mandatory contender for IBF champion Carl Froch.

Stevenson has been making some major headlines as of late with his performances, and he’s looking to get himself into title contention. But if George finds a way to win, his recent loss will be erased, and he’ll be in line to go up against Carl Froch, so it’s a big opportunity for both men.
