Broner vs. Rees – WBC Lightweight Title
- Adrien Broner: 134 lbs
- Gavin Rees: 134.5 lbs
There were rumors that Broner was struggling to make weight, but if that was the case, it didn’t show here. Broner went onto the scales wearing his sunglasses, and holding a can of Sprite. The officials made him remove both! But as soon as he made weight, he got back to drinking his Sprite.
When the two squared off, Broner was immediately in his ear talking all kinds of trash, as Rees just smiled off and looked ahead. Next to one another, Broner is a much bigger, more athletic and stronger looking man, no surprise there. And that won’t help Rees out any, considering he’s out-matched in terms of speed and skill as well.
Sjekloca vs. Bika
- Nikola Sjekloca: 167.5 lbs
- Sakio Bika: 167.5 lbs
Bika is never an easy match for anybody, and he should challenge Sjekloca, who has a nice looking record, but hasn’t been in there with top opposition. It will be interesting to see how this one plays out. This fight was bumped up to co-feature status after the postponement of the rematch between Johnathon Banks and Seth Mitchell.

- Cherry: 129.5 lbs
Demetrius Hopkins vs. Charles Whittaker
- Hopkins: 152.5 lbs
- Whittaker: 154 lbs
