AIBA Pro Boxing draw will take place Sept 17th in Kazakhstan

The Official Draw for the AIBA Pro Boxing (APB) Pre-Ranking Phase will take place in the AIBA Boxing Academy in the Almaty region, Kazakhstan, on September 17.

APB Boxers will get together for the first time at the AIBA Boxing Academy on September 14-17 to take part in a number of workshops on different aspects of the upcoming competition. The gatherings busy three-day schedule includes video and photo shoot sessions, competitions presentations and media training.

The draw will follow the grand opening of the AIBA Boxing Academy which will take place at 12.00 (local time) on September 17.

This occasion will be attended by the President of the Kazakhstan, Mr Nursultan Nazarbaev, the AIBA President Dr Ching-Kuo Wu, the President of the Kazakh Boxing Federation Mr Timur Kulibaev and high-ranking members of sports embassies, local authorities and media representatives.

As announced, the APB Boxers’ Selection and Ranking Committee have already met to decide upon seeds one and two in each weight category. During the Draw on September 17th, these seeds will be placed respectively in the top and bottom halves of the brackets. The remaining six boxers will be a part of the manual draw process.

The Official results of the APB Draw will identify the fight cards of the pre-ranking phase of the competition, with the results of the Draw to be exclusively announced on the APB Website on September 17th.
