50 Cent’s SMS promotions announced today the signing of yet another prospect. Ryan Martin, an amateur standout from Chattanooga, TN, is scheduled to make his professional debut on September 16th at the Resorts World Casino NYC in New York.
“There will be a lot of talent at Big Apple Boxing. Ryan has what it takes to be successful. At only 20 years old he shows dedication and determination that will land him on top,” Commented 50 Cent
Martin campaigned in the 132lb and 141lb Men’s Open Division. He was the number one ranked lightweight in 2010 and an Olympic hopeful for the state of Tennessee. However he lost a close decision in the 2012 Olympic qualifier to undefeated prospect Robert Easter. Andy Smith of the Westside Boxing Club was his head amateur coach. “50 Cent told me he’d make me a star, he has the trust of my manager, Tim VanNewhouse and I know we have a good team in place,” stated Martin. “With the many platforms he can provide, I know I’ll be on a world stage. To be among the few signed by him is very humbling to say the least. I’m very pleased and I’m working hard everyday for my pro debut”.
Martin is a 12 time National Champion and a huge fan favorite in the southern part of the country. With over 200 amateur bouts and among many other accolades he is ready to take the next leap in his career.
“Ryan has all the tools physically and the character that will allow him to become a world champion, as well as a star that boxing so desperately needs,” stated Delguyd
