Amir Khan just won’t stop clamoring for a fight against Floyd Mayweather. Truly, it’s something which has plagued him and his career for years, often coming in advance of an upset defeat or an extended layoff which otherwise derails his momentum. He may yet get his chance for the golden ticket and the Mayweather fight, and certainly Showtime is pushing him as an opponent, continually referencing him.
Here, we see a reaction video interview with Khan after the Mayweather vs. Maidana rematch. He gives Mayweather credit as being the best pound for pound fighter, but says he’s never fought anyone with his style. Khan says he may have lost before, but he’s never been out-boxed. He also doesn’t think that Mayweather has the power to hurt him.
Khan said, “When it comes to skills, we’ll out-shine him. When it comes to boxing, a game of chess, I know I’ll beat anyone.”
Khan also said that he wasn’t particularly impressed by Mayweather, and that he wants to fight him while he’s still on top.
Stay tuned more updates in the endless Khan-fueled speculation that he one day gets to share the ring with Floyd Mayweather.
