Amir Khan has signed a deal to work with influential boxing advisor Al Haymon.

Haymon currently works with a number of leading boxers including Floyd Mayweather, Adrien Broner, Danny Garcia and others.

Speaking on the agreement, Amir Khan said:

“I am very happy to have signed with Al Haymon who has not only shown that he is a very astute businessman, but is extremely knowledgeable of the fight game and always has his fighters’ best interests at heart. I’m looking forward to building a long and successful relationship during this exciting stage of my career.”

From the outside looking in, it’s almost insane how many fighters Al Haymon seems to be gobbling up. He has a huge stable of the best fighters and biggest names in the business. For Khan, he of course has to feel like he was on the outside looking in for the Floyd Mayweather derby.

Now, he has to feel like he has more of an inside track, and who knows what kind of arrangement or under the table promises were made about the potential for a Mayweather vs. Khan match. But Haymon could also be eager to produce Broner vs. Khan first, or line Khan up with any number of his other fighters. Khan’s already facing a fellow-Haymon fighter when he meets Luis Collazo next.
