In a pair of high-stakes welterweight match-ups, British superstar Amir “King” Khan will take on Devon Alexander “The Great”, while undefeated Keith “One Time” Thurman will defend against Leonard “The Lion” Bundu. Khan vs. Alexander is entitled The Royal Battle, The King vs. The Great, and it takes place at December 13 in Las Vegas, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Tickets for the Amir Khan vs. Devon Alexander fight go on sale this Friday.
Rounding out an action-packed night will be 2008 U.S. Olympian Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade who will risk his 154-pound belt against rising star Jermell “Iron Man” Charlo.
Khan vs. Alexander was recently confirmed, after originally being scheduled for the same time last year. Khan pulled out of that match, hoping to fight Floyd Mayweather, and Alexander went on to lose his title to Shawn Porter. Now, the two will finally meet in the ring, and for whichever man wins, there’s still hope of a mega-fight with Mayweather in the future.
Not if Thurman has anything to say about it though. The hard-hitting One-Time is looking for a statement, showcase win which could propel him over other potential foes and into the mix for Mayweather himself.
