The highly anticipated and much rumored bout between top junior welterweight fighters Amir Khan and Marcos Maidana is officially set. Khan vs. Maidana will take place on Saturday, December 11th, and will be broadcast live on HBO World Championship Boxing. The card will be held from the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, and it marks the clash of two of the sport’s best, and an interesting meeting of styles, with the technical boxing and sometimes questionable chin of Khan, against the come-forward, big power style of Maidana.
Golden Boy Promotions in association with Khan Promotions and Universum Box Promotions will be hosting a press conference at Planet Hollywood in London on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 12:30pm, for the announcement of the world title clash between reigning WBA Super Lightweight World Champion Amir Khan and hard-hitting Argentine WBA Super Lightweight Interim World Champion Marcos Maidana.
One of the year’s most highly anticipated fights will take place on Saturday, December 11th, 2010 at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada and televised live on HBO’s World Championship Boxing in the United States, with both fighters set to be present for Thursday’s announcement.
Stay tuned for more updates regarding Khan vs. Maidana, including detailed analysis, previews and predictions. With this bout made, should Timothy Bradley vs. Devon Alexander also get made, you would have a de facto junior welterweight tournament with the semifinals set, and a very intriguing showdown awaiting the winners.
