Yesterday we showed you the Carl Froch I Am a Fighter video from Showtime, taking a look at Froch and his upbringing, and how he got into the sport of boxing. Today, we have the Andre Ward version of the I Am a Fighter series, and Ward tackles the same issues. Watch what the S.O.G. has to say right here.
Ward talks about being raised by his father, and how his father helped get him into the boxing. They found Virgil Hunter, who is his godfather now, and continued training and getting into the sport and advancing. Ward’s father passed in 2002, but Ward used that as motivation to make the 2004 Olympic team and win the Gold medal at the games, the last American boxing gold medal.
Andre talks about having his family on his mind all the time, and how this is a tough sport which takes a lot from you. But he continues to improve and strive forward, and he’s ready for the toughest challenge of his career, against Carl Froch on December 17th in the Super Six Finals.
