Ashley Theophane training camp notes: Wants Lamont Peterson, Zab Judah or Humberto Soto in 2015

Ashley “Treasure” Theophane (36-6, 11 KOs) returns to the ring on December 12th as part of the undercard on the Erislandy Lara vs. Ishe Smith bill. Theophane, now with Mayweather Promotions, was last out in August when he recorded a unanimous decision over Daniel Calzada. Here, he takes on Miguel Zuniga (12-5, 7 KOs).

Theophane is currently is in the midst of a grueling training camp, and took time to speak with ProBoxing-Fans.com. The Londoner is out to impress and vows to leave the ring victorious before embarking on what could be a big 2015 for the pugilist.

On his intense preparation for the bout…

The star continuously excels with his hard training and you’d expect nothing else with ‘hardwork, dedication’ being the motto in the Mayweather Gym. Ashley reiterated the toughness of his routine: “There’s nothing to change. I continue to work hard to become a better fighter. Working on my skills and ring generalship. My hard work has got me this far, further than everyone in the boxing world thought was possible.”

On guaranteeing a win on fight night…

In no uncertain terms he expressed his belief on the outcome of the clash against Zuniga “I will win. That’s all that matters.”

With Theophane already accumulating 36 wins he has twice as many wins as his opponent has had fights. The experienced fighter expressed his confidence, “Any sportsman is always confident regardless who they are fighting.”

On fighting a big name in 2015…

The Englishman has a big year coming up in 2015 and is pledged to challenge some of the top guys out there in the coming year, “Next year I’ll be back facing the best of 140lbs.” He went on to describe exciting potential fights for him in the New Year, “Humberto Soto, Zab Judah and Lamont Peterson are fighters I’d love to test my skills against.”

On his aims for the future…

The 34 year old will be aiming to decorate his career by winning titles in the near future. The hungry boxer told us he has his eyes on all of the major title belts and sanctioning bodies, and is eager for a chance at the championship.
