The Dr. Theodore A. Atlas Foundation continues its invaluable fundraising in the boxing community Saturday night, June 7, hosting a Miguel Cotto vs. Sergio Martinez Benefit Party, at Jack Demsey’s Pub (33 West 33rd St.) in Manhattan.
A $20.00 donation includes entry to Jack Demsey’s for giveaways and raffles throughout the evening, highlighted by the viewing of the Cotto vs. Martinez pay-per-view championship fight live on multiple screens from nearby Madison Square Garden.
A portion of the evening’s proceeds will go towards projects the Dr. Atlas Foundation is presently working on this week; including home renovations needed for two recently wheelchair-bound people whose insurance policies do not cover such costs and who are financially unable to modify their living quarters on their own.
Internationally respected boxing color commentator and trainer, Teddy Atlas, founder and chairman of the Dr. Atlas Foundation that’s named in his father’s honor, will be on hand to participate in the festivities.
“The real Jack Dempsey was a great puncher and I appreciate that the owners of the restaurant with his namesake are using some of that power to help our foundation improve lives,” Atlas said.
“We’re proud to support the Dr. Atlas Foundation by having this great event at Jack Demsey’s,” Owner Enda Keenan added.
