Alen Babic says he will “drown” Johnny Fisher when the pair meet in an eagerly-anticipated heavyweight showdown this weekend.

Fisher puts his unbeaten record on the line against Babic at the Copper Box Arena on Saturday, live on DAZN.

Babic has built a reputation as a relentless, all-action fighter and the Croatian does not see his rival being able to withstand his pressure.

“It’s gonna be crazy,” the 33-year-old told IFLTV.

“I’m going to try to drown Johnny Fisher.

“It’s as simple as that.

“I’m going to try to do everything to make him as uncomfortable as he can possibly be and I can do that.

“You can’t find a sparring partner who can do that better than I do.

“So that’s my strength and I’m planning on reaching my strength.

“I’m not going to jab with Fisher, although I have a better jab.

“But, what am I going to do, jab with him? No I’m going to drown him.

“I’m going to put him in a sink or swim situation and I know he’s going to sink.”

‘The Savage’ bounced back from a maiden professional loss to Lukasz Rozanski in a bid for the WBC bridgerweight title with a sixth round stoppage victory over Steve Robinson in March.

Fisher recorded his 11th straight win and 10th knockout with a first round blowout of Dmytro Bezus in Las Vegas in February.

The pair came face-to-face in London on Tuesday to promote Saturday’s bout and Babic insists he sensed nerves from the Romford man.

“I saw him today at the face off,” Babic added.

“He had trouble to breathe.

“Can you imagine being in front of 5,000 people? Under the bright lights, with ‘The Savage’ in the corner.

“It’s going to be hell, it’s going to be hell on earth and I’ve been there.”
