An undisputed super featherweight title clash at Lux Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, ended in disappointment, as Alycia Baumgardner and Delfine Persoon fought to a no-contest in their meeting.

Baumgardner (15-1, KO4) completed the full set of belts by taking the WBC title with a wide points win against Elhem Mekhaled last February, but after outscoring Christina Linardatou last July, the champion failing a drug test a month later. Persoon (49-3, KO19) arrived to this contest best-known for pushing Katie Taylor to the limit in 2019, dropping a majority verdict in New York, and she lost by only two points in the rematch on two cards just over a year later to the Irishwoman. She was on a run of five straight wins against lower-key opposition.

Baumgardner started strongly, working well off her jab, and she scored a first round knockdown, as a left hook forced the challenger’s glove to touch the canvas. The second saw more dominance, with Baumgardner hammering away in flurries, and rocking Persoon while she was on the ropes. The champion’s timing was beating the Belgian’s pressure, but with Baumgardner going to throw a right hand and Persoon on the counter in round four, the two clashed heads, and Persoon came off much the worse, with the cut to her face ruling her out of action on the doctor’s advice.

With four rounds not being completed, the fight was ruled a no contest.

The vacant WBC International bantamweight title was up for grabs on the undercard, and Rosalinda Rodriguez (14-0, KO3) claimed it with a split decision win over Amy Naert (10-4, KO3). Rodriguez took 99-91 and 97-93 tallies from two judges, with a third ruling 97-93 in Naert’s favour.

Over six rounds at minumumweight, Agustina Solange Vazquez (4-2-2, KO0) took a points win against Sabrina Persona (3-3, KO1) by scores of 58-56 (twice) and 59-55.

Nicole Schaefer (3-1-1, KO3) and Mariya Agapova (0-0-1) couldn’t be split at super featherweight, with all three judges scoring a 57-57 draw.

In four rounders, Natalie Dove (4-0, KO0) got the nod on points at super flyweight against Laddy Mejia (0-1-1), and Super lightweight first-timer Yvonne Flores (1-0, KO0) was also a points winner against Katharina Lehner (1-2, KO0) at super lightweight.

Stephanie Simon (1-0, KO0) took all four rounds on debut against Claudia Zamora (0-1) at super lightweight, while Issabel Vazquez (1-0, KO0) did the same against fellow debutant Crystal Van Wyk (0-1) in a super flyweight affair. Samantha Ginithan (1-0, KO1) debuted with a first round halting of Martyna Krol (0-1) at super featherweight.
