Danny Garcia is the latest big American name to add himself to the callout list of Conor Benn.
Benn was targeted by a number of top Americans after his points victory over Peter Dobson in Las Vegas earlier this month, including Gervonta Davis and Errol Spence Jr.
Former two-time welterweight world champion, Garcia has now welcomed a super welterweight clash with the unbeaten Brit, whose bout with Dobson was at 150lbs.
“I would love to fight him at 154,” Garcia told YSM Sports Media.
“I think that makes great sense.
“He wants to fight a big name.
“Garcia vs Benn. Ain’t no bigger fight than fighting Danny Garcia, so I would love that fight.”
The 35-year-old has not fought since securing a majority decision win over Jose Benavidez Jr in July 2022, bouncing back from defeat to Spence Jr.
Garcia has notable wins over Amir Khan, Erik Morales and Zab Judah in a career spanning 17 years and has now moved up to super welterweight.
The Philadelphian insists he was impressed with Benn’s performance against Dobson and feels their styles would make for a fan-friendly fight.
“I think he did good,” he added.
“That guy was gritty though. He had skills that dude.
“But definitely, I think stylistically that’s a great fight for me and that’s a fight I would love.
“At 154, not 147.
“They already know what time it is.
“I don’t duck no smoke.”
Benn’s promoter, Eddie Hearn has reportedly sent an eight-figure offer to the aforementioned Davis for a showdown with the 27-year-old.
