Conor Benn has said an 18-foot ring was his only demand going into his crunch showdown with Chris Eubank Jr this Saturday night.

Eubank Jr and Benn will lock horns at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in one of the most hotly-anticipated grudge matches to take place on British shores in recent memory.

There was an extremely long and drawn out negotiation process for the fight, which was originally scheduled to take place two-and-a-half years ago.

However, terms were eventually agreed and ‘The Destroyer’ has claimed his only demand was a relatively small ring.

In an interview with Sky Sports, the 28-year-old added that he plans to “steamroll” Eubank Jr come Saturday night.

“The only thing I asked for in my contract was an 18-foot ring. So let that just ease your mind in how I’m feeling.

“He ain’t going to be ready for what’s coming anyway. So you want to ask if I’m coming to steamroll him – of course I am.

“You think I’m coming in there to muck about? Get paid for overtime?

“Come and meet me in the middle then. That’s how I have it all my fights, that’s just how I am.”

Eubank will be the bigger man on the night, meaning Benn would be adopting a brave approach if he does elect to adopt to meet him head on in just over 48 hours.

Although Benn’s last two fights have taken place at 154lbs, he has campaigned as a welterweight for the majority of his career and, with Eubank having boxed as high as super middle, there are some who feel it may be a step too far.

However, a controversial 10 pound next day rehydration clause is in place, which some observers believe could deplete the 36-year-old Brighton man just enough to swing the odds in Benn’s favour, in what would be a career changing win.
