Conor Benn has predicted a victory so devastating over Chris Eubank Jr, that his whole family name will be tarnished.
Eubank Jr and Benn have signed to fight in a rearranged middleweight grudge match in April, expected to be staged at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The pair were meant to fight in October 2022, a clash based almost entirely on the legacy of their fathers, who fought twice in the ’90s, but was shelved on fight week after Benn tested positive for the banned substance clomiphene.
A brutal war of words has ensued since between them and Benn insists he will score a decisive knockout victory.
“I don’t want to knock him out for legacy reasons,” the 28-year-old said to Matchroom Boxing.
“I want to knock him out, because it’s personal and I think he’s an idiot.
“I thank the British public for backing me and being behind me, so for me I owe this to them.
“There’s no other fight the British public deserve.
“I believe I knock him out so badly that’s all he’ll be remembered for.
“The whole name Eubank will just be remembered based on this knockout.
“I’m going in there, taking his head clean off his shoulders, that’s it.”
‘The Destroyer’ has had his last two fights in the USA, but had his temporary suspension lifted by the National Anti-Doping Panel in October, meaning he is cleared to resume his career in the UK.
The Essex man, who will move up two weight classes to face the 35-year-old, was in talks to face WBC welterweight champion, Mario Barrios before sealing a showdown with Eubank Jr.

“I know a lot of people would love to have seen me win the WBC world title,” he added.
“Due to the lack of belief by pundits, by boxing connoisseurs, by media outlets that I would never get to the level where I could fight for the WBC world title.
“To being in a position of winning it, would have shut a lot of people up.”
The pair went head-to-head in the ring after Eubank Jr knocked out Kamil Szeremeta in Saudi Arabia in October and the bout will headline a card put together by Saudi Arabian boxing chief Turki Alalshikh, who announced the fight was signed on Wednesday morning.
