Hopkins vs. Cloud Weigh-in Photos
Hopkins vs. Cloud Weights – IBF Light Heavyweight Title
- Tavoris Cloud: 173.8 lbs
- Bernard Hopkins: 174.4 lbs
Hopkins had a completely serious, focused and intense look throughout the weigh-ins. He has that me-against-the-world attitude right now which has made him so successful in the past. He got right up into Cloud’s face as they squared off and the two engaged in a good deal of back and forth.
The real question here is basically how much does Hopkins have left. Everybody is well aware that he has all of the know-how and skill, but will he be able to cope with the youth and strength advantages which Cloud brings to the table?
Looking at it from the other side of the equation, will Cloud be able to do enough to solve the Hopkins riddle? Will he stay busy and force the pace of the fight? These will be the issues which ultimately determine the result of the action..
Thurman vs. Zaveck
- Keith Thurman: 145.8 lbs
- Jan Zaveck: 146.6 lbs
Thurman continues to get cushy showcase fights on HBO in this one. He’ll be expected to look good against Zaveck, and then be in line, one would hope, for a more robust challenge if he’s going to be continually shown on HBO.
Also, Andre Ward will be joining the HBO announcing team for the bout. Roy Jones Jr. was forced to attend a funeral. Coincidentally, it allows Ward an up-close and personal look at some potential future opponents.
