Junaid Bostan is looking to draw on his recent sparring with Caleb Plant when he views for the English super welterweight title on Friday.
Bostan shared some valuable rounds with former IBF super middleweight champion, Plant during a trip to Las Vegas in June.
The 22-year-old is unbeaten in his first 10 professional bouts and says the American gave him advice as he looks to build on his early success as a pro.
“Growing up I watched a lot of Caleb Plant,” Bostan told proboxing-fans.com on Wednesday.
“I was asked to study him due to his jab, his good footwork, his balance and distance.
“So I watched him a lot and for me to have the opportunity to spar him, I took it up with both hands.
“We got some good work in and it was a good experience.
“Before the spar he was a good fella, during the spar we got to it and after the spar he gave me a lot of wisdom.
“So I’m very thankful.”

Asked what advice ’Sweethands’ gave him, Bostan added: “Technical things.
“On top of that, things outside of the ring and what to be wary of and what you should do outside of it.
“So things of that nature.
“I’m very grateful for his time.”
The Rotherham man aims to claim his first strap as a professional tonight when he clashes with Bilal Fawaz for the English title at the Indigo at the O2.
The pair traded words at the final press conference on Wednesday, but ‘Star Boy’ insists the opportunity of winning a maiden belt has not provided him with any added motivation.
“I don’t need extra motivation,” he said.
“For me, a fight’s a fight.
“So I want to win the fight as much as any fight.
“The will to win doesn’t increase or decrease due to the exterior things that come with it.”
