Jake Smith of Baltimore Pro Boxing and Ballroom Boxing’s Scott Wagner are proud to announce that they’ll co-promote “The Future” Friday, February 11 at Michael’s Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie. The card will feature Olympic style open class boxing with top notch amateurs that are projected to star in the professional ranks. Tickets start at $25 and can be ordered by calling 410-766-7474.
Smith and Wagner are considered as the Beltway Area’s elite promoters, hosting upwards of 150 successful shows during the last ten years. Both have showcased elite talent on their cards, including fighters who went on to become world champions, renowned prospects and local talent. Although the two were perceived to be rival promoters, Smith and Wagner have been friends for year that always wanted to work together.
“Scott and I have always been close and I have the utmost respect for him,” said Smith. “He built a franchise at Michael’s with the Ballroom Boxing series and I’ve also promoted all of my cards in the area, so together I really think we are going to make a major impact.” Wagner, like Smith, is also looking forward to the joint venture.
“They always said two heads are better than one. We have completely different methods of promotion which is a thing of beauty because there are so many different angles we can approach. It’s definitely going to be exciting to see what we’ll come up with collectively.”
