BOXXER promoter, Ben Shalom says he is keen to make an all-British heavyweight clash between Hughie Fury and Derek Chisora.
Fury, the younger cousin of WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson is eyeing a big-name fight after beating Christian Hammer in his first bout under the BOXXER banner in October and Shalom says he has reached out to Chisora.
Chisora, who turned 38-years-old earlier this month, insisted he would not hang up his gloves after suffering a brave, but bruising unanimous decision defeat to Joseph Parker in their rematch in December.
Matchroom Chairman, Eddie Hearn suggested the Londoner could face former world champion, Deontay Wilder, despite a third successive loss, however Shalom is doubtful that could be made and believes a meeting with the Manchester man makes sense.
“He will struggle to get the Deontay Wilder fight that has been spoken about,” Shalom told Sky Sports.
“Even Dillian Whyte struggled to get the Wilder fight. Hughie is the fight that makes sense for Chisora.
“If Chisora wins, it proves that he is still an elite British heavyweight. Chisora lost to Parker. Hughie arguably beat Parker when he was just 23 years old.
“If Chisora wants to bounce back with a bang? If he is still serious?
“Chisora is very good and only loses to the elite guys so, for Hughie, it is a good fight.
“The fans want to see this – they love Derek and they want to see Hughie tested. We have reached out again to Derek. We want the fight, Hughie wants it, Peter Fury wants it.
“It’s an exciting fight for us.”
Fury has won three on the bounce since a third career defeat to Alexander Povetkin in 2019, with his other losses coming to Kubrat Pulev and the aforementioned, Parker in a tight points loss for the WBO heavyweight world title in 2017.

The 27-year-old is moving towards another world title opportunity ranked at four in the WBA behind ‘super’ champion, Oleksandr Usyk and ‘regular’ titlist, Trevor Bryan and Shalom has named Andy Ruiz Jr and Chris Arreola as alternative targets.
“The hardest part is getting people to fight him,” Shalom added.
“The risk and reward [for his opponent] makes it difficult.
“Chisora would be a big fight for him. We are also speaking to Chris Arreola and Andy Ruiz Jr.
“There are exciting options for Hughie while the guys with the belts are going at it.”
