Brian Rose will face Carson Jones at the MEN Arena in Manchester on Friday January 23.
Rose challenged for a junior middleweight title earlier in the year and continues his charge to a second shot with a tough test against Jones, who is familiar on these shores after he gave Kell Brook the fight of his life in July 2012 and returning for a rematch last summer.
“I’m excited to be back in the ring again in Manchester on January 23 fighting for another title,” said Rose. “I enjoyed watching Carson taking on Kell and he always comes to fight – I think our styles make for a great match up. The atmosphere in the Arena is going to be electric that night and I’m looking forward to getting the win and moving up the World rankings.”
The Blackpool star faces Oklahoma’s Jones on the undercard of Anthony Crolla’s WBA World Lightweight title challenge against Richar Abril, as the Manchester favourite aims to cap a great 18 months in the ring by ripping the title from the Cuban star.
