Brian Vera has told Rocky Fielding he’s out of his depth when they clash at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on Friday June 26.
Vera travels from the States to present the hometown favorite with his toughest test of his pro career to date, but Fielding declared last week that he would make a big statement and do what the likes of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, Serhiy Dzinziruk and Sergio Mora couldn’t do – and stop the 33 year old visitor.
The Texan has retaliated this morning though and has warned Fielding that he’ll take his unbeaten record on the night, and with the WBC International title on the line, Vera says he’ll be the one making strides in the division.
“This guy Rocky Fielding is making a huge mistake,” said Vera. “He is way out of his league here and so far in his career hasn’t fought anybody – also, as far as I can see, he can’t crack an egg.
“This is the perfect opportunity and opponent to get back in the mix and I’m really excited about fighting in England for the first time and putting on a war for the fans.”
Fielding’s clash with Vera is part of a huge night of action on Merseyside with Rocky’s fellow Liverpool Super Middleweight star Callum Smith facing former European champion Christopher Rebrasse, Tony Bellew meeting the experienced Lubos Suda and new Matchroom signing Martin Murray making his debut at Super Middleweight.
