EuroPlus Computers S.R.L. in collaboration with InterBox and Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing Inc. is proud to announce that celebrity ring announcer Michael Buffer will be present in Bucharest on Saturday, July 9th. Mr. Buffer will announce the Main Event of the evening where IBF Champion Lucian Bute will defend his title for an 8th consecutive time against fellow undefeated and Mandatory challenger Jean-Paul Mendy.
This Event will mark the second time in Lucian’s career that Michael Buffer announces him in front of his fans. Mr. Buffer was on hand last November 28th, 2009 at the Pepsi Colisee in Quebec City to electrify the 16,000 plus fans for the Bute vs. Andrade rematch bout.
Mr. Buffer and his catch phrases will certainly thrill all boxing fans united at the Romexpo arena in Bucharest, as well as the thousands more watching the event live in Canada (Pay Per View on Canal Indigo, Bell TV and Shaw, as well as at all Cage-aux-Sports Restaurant locations throughout Quebec).
Mr. Rudel Obreja, known as the key figure of boxing in Romania, recently worked out all details with the Hall of Fame announcer. “It was the goal of the Minister of Tourism in Romania, Mrs. Elena Udrea, to have World renowned celebrities on hand in Bucharest for this historic boxing event. Other surprises are definitely in store for our July 9th show” declares Rudel Obreja.
