On Friday, August 19, at the Juan “Pachin” Vicens Auditorium in Ponce, Puerto Rico, former world title challenger and member of Team Puerto Rico, Cesar Seda, Jr. (20-1, 15 KO’s) will face Olympic gold medalist Yan Barthelemy (12-2, 4 KO’s) in the main event of the Universal Promotions boxing event entitled “Under Fire”.
The intriguing match-up is scheduled for 10 rounds and will be contested at a catch weight of 117 pounds.
Barthelemy won gold at the 2004 Olympics in Greece. He also won a gold medal at World Boxing Championships in 2001 and another one at the 2003 Pan American Games in the Dominican Republic.
“It’s good to be able to confirm this fight. Barthelemy is a great fighter, very experienced, who always gives everything in the ring. I know it will be a great fight,” said Seda.
For his part, President of Universal Promotions, Javier Bustillo, said, “This is a great fight and another opportunity for Seda to show the world his skills.”
Also scheduled to appear that night is Team Puerto Rico teammate Jose “Sniper” Pedraza in a four-round showcase.
