ESSINGTON, PA (June 25, 2013)—This Thursday night June 27th at the Deck in Essington, PA, Marty Feldman and Meldrick Taylor’s Champions of Tomorrow will present its inaugural show with a terrific seven bout card.
In the main event, 2008 Olympic Bronze medal winner, Yordenis Ugas will take on tough veteran Adan Hernandez in a ten round Jr. Welterweight bout.
Ugas of Miami, Florida via Santiago, Cuba has an outstanding record of 13-1 with 6 knockouts.
He is known as a top prospect with championship potential as he won his first eleven fights which include a win over tough Kenny Abril.
He has won two in a row with the latest being a 10 round unanimous decision over former world title challenger Cosme Rivera on December 7th.
Hernandez of El Paso, Texas has a record of 15-7 with 6 knockouts.
The thirty-two year old Hernandez has fought a whose who of the top fighters such as undefeated Hugo Lewis (12-0-1); Rock Allen; World title challengers Urbano Antillion and Anthony Peterson as well as currant World champion Danny Garcia.
In a four round Welterweight bout son of former Heavyweight champion Tim Witherspoon, Tim Witherspoon Jr. (9-3-1, 2 KO’s) of Philadelphia takes on Josh Beeman (4-11-4, 2 KO’s) of Providence, RI
Son of former world Heavyweight champion Bruce Seldon, Isiah Seldon (7-0, 3 KO’s) of Atlantic City, NJ battles Lekan Byfield (3-4-2, 1 KO) of Atlanta in a six round Middleweight bout.
Son of former world title challenger Tyrone Crawley, Tyrone Crawley Jr. (3-0) takes on Christian Steele (3-5-1, 1 KO) of Philadelphia.
David Gonzales (1-0) of Philadelphia, PA fights Pro debuting Evencii Dixon of Lancaster, PA in a four round Jr. Welterweight bout.
Dante Selby (1-0-1) will box Zeferino Albino (4-17-3, 2 KO’s) in a fight featuring two Philadelphia based Heavyweights scheduled for four rounds.
Lonnie Jackson (1-0-1) of Philadelphia takes on battle tested Travis Thompson (4-10-2, 3 KO’s) of Pottstown, PA in a Lightweight bout scheduled for four rounds.
