Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. finally captured the first world title of his career several weeks ago, and on the same night, Vanes Martirosyan took another step closer towards achieving his own goal of doing the same thing. The common denominator? Chavez Jr. and Martirosyan are both trained by Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles. Fighting just one weight class removed from another, and getting ready for fights on the same night, the two worked with one another quite a bit and sparred with each other for lengthy periods.
