Julio Cesar Chavez believes Canelo Alvarez will knock out Terence Crawford when they meet later this year.
Canelo and Crawford are reportedly closing in on a September showdown for Alvarez’s unified super middleweight titles.
Crawford, who holds the WBA super welterweight title, will move up two weight classes to face the Mexican superstar and is apparently not seeking a rehydration clause.
Mexican legend, Chavez believes his compatriot will score an emphatic knockout victory over the Omaha man, primarily due to the weight disparity between the pair.
“Canelo is very strong,” Chavez told ES News.
“He has a lot of weight.
“Canelo will knock him out in six rounds,
“Crawford is a good fighter, but there’s weight classes.”

Canelo could have a fight before facing Crawford, with Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions holding the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on May 3, should he opt to fight on his customary Cinco De Mayo date.
According to Boxing Scene, Crawford is not planning an interim bout, despite having not fought since overcoming Israil Madrimov in August.
The 37-year-old, who will look to become a five-weight world champion when he faces Alvarez, does not believe the weight will play a factor.
“People say, ‘You’re too small’ or ‘You’re outmatched’ or ‘You don’t belong in the ring with these types of fighters,’” he told Boxing Scene.
“That’s when great fighters perform their best.
“I’m going to feel great [at 168].
“I don’t need to worry about the weight.
“I know I’m going to feel great.
“I’ve got a lot of things to prepare on.
“That’s part of boxing – [meeting] milestones you’ve got to hit.
“We’re going to be well prepared when that time comes.”
