Anthony Joshua will be fighting the winner of the proposed Filip Hrgovic vs Daniel Dubois clash, according to Derek Chisora.

Joshua secured his fourth victory in almost 12 months, knocking out Francis Ngannou in the second round in Saudi Arabia last month.

The former two-time heavyweight world champion is the third ranked contender with the IBF and looks to be closing in on another world title shot.

The IBF belt, which is currently held by unified heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk is likely to become vacant following the undisputed heavyweight title clash between Usyk and WBC titlist, Tyson Fury on May 18, with the pair locked into a two-fight deal.

Filip Hrgovic and Daniel Dubois, who are ranked at one and three respectively by the organisation, are reportedly set to meet on June 1 in Saudi Arabia as part of the Queensberry vs Matchroom card, which will pit five fighters from each promotion against each other.

And according to Chisora, a long-time friend of ‘AJ’, the Londoner will fight the winner on a card at Wembley Stadium, with His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, already confirming plans to stage an event at the national stadium in September.

“He will fight the winner of Daniel Dubois and [Filip] Hrgovic in Wembley [Stadium],” Chisora told IFLTV.

“That’s the plan, yeah.

“This little adventure for Turki Alalshikh to bring it back to London, sick.”

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn revealed this week Hrgovic-Dubois is not a done deal and insists Joshua will be in a world title fight in his next outing.

“I think you’ll see him back end of the summer,” Hearn told IFLTV.

“He’s keen to fight again ASAP.

“Obviously you’ve got Fury-Usyk on May 18. Very keen to see what happens there and then you’ve got the IBF situation with Filip Hrgovic and we’ll see what happens if he fights in the interim.

“But I would say Anthony Joshua’s next fight will either be for the world heavyweight championship or for the undisputed world heavyweight championship.

“The winner of Fury-Usyk has to fight Hrgovic no exceptions.

“So, we know if there are two fights, which we understand there is, then the IBF will become vacant.”
