Chris Eubank Jr. has responded publicly after his non-attendance at yesterday’s press conference which was to promote his middleweight title eliminator fight with Billy Joe Saunders on November 29th. Find the quotes from Eubank right here, these are the only comments he has made so far on his no-show and are taken from a phone interview he gave to BT Sport’s Boxing Tonight program during recording last night.
Billy Joe Saunders was in the studio during the call and the whole interview with both fighters can be seen tonight on BT Sport 1.

Chris Eubank Jr Responds:
“I respect the business of boxing so much which is why I didn’t come to the press conference because Billy Joe Saunders is unprofessional about things he might do and say.
“That brings a bad light on British boxing and we need to stay away from things like that. My job is to get in the ring, beat him and take the belts.”
The response rings hollow, because it seemed unlikely that Saunders would have initiated an actual brawl, and Eubank meanwhile has a history of no-shows. If he’s been trying to get under Saunders’ skin, it’s certainly be working. Whether or not that’s helpful to him in the ring we’ll have to wait and see.
