Christina took some time to answer some questions about her experience as a Chica Tecate, the photo shoot and her lifestyle:
- What was the most unexpected thing you learned about boxing?
How much endurance and dedication it takes. When I saw my first boxing match in person, I was surprised to see how difficult it is, it’s more than simply moving our arms around. There’s no “team” to back you up. You could really injure yourself in a much more serious way than another sport. I really respect what they do out there.
- How was the experience of learning from a pro during the photo shoot?
It was probably the best experience of my life, learning that it doesn’t matter how big or small you are, male or female, if you work hard enough you can win, it just takes a lot of dedication. I felt like even I could do it if I wanted it bad enough.
- What do you do to stay in shape?
I try not to eat a lot of junk/fast food, I actually just picked up the 24 minute boxing workout. When we were in New York and were learning from Tisha, it was a complete full body workout! Learning how to punch and move around in the ring took so much energy out of me, and when I got home I was so inspired to do boxing as workouts. She really inspired me to work on my boxing skills and be tough.
- You grew up and live in Texas, tell us your favorite thing of this State?
My favorite thing is the beach (South Padre Island). There’s fishing and so much to do, and growing up by the beach it’s such a laid back environment. There’s nothing but Tecate everywhere!
I also like how everyone knows everybody! I love Houston as well, there’s so much land and things to see out here!
