Fighting on Chavez Jr. vs. Zbik Undercard:
This Saturday at Staples Center, in Los Angeles, World Boxing Council (WBC) female super welterweight champion Christy Martin returns to the ring for the first time in two years, completing a personal and professional comeback. Seeking her landmark 50th career victory, she will be facing Dakota Stone in a rematch of their 2009 world title fight, won narrowly by Martin.
The Martin vs. Stone battle will highlight the non-televised undercard of “The Son Also Rises: Sebastian Zbik vs. Julio César Chávez Jr. World Middleweight Championship,” Saturday, June 4 at STAPLES Center. The world championship event will be highlighted by a celebration of the boxing career of Julio César Chávez, who will be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame the following week.
