Anthony ‘Can You Dig It’ Yigit (12-0-1, 5 KOs) aims to prove he is ready to rule the European light welterweight scene by beating Timo Schwarzkopf (14-0, 8 KOs) on Saturday night at the StadtHalle in Rostock.
The Stockholm-fighter faces the undefeated German on the undercard of Juergen Braehmer’s defense against Robin Krasniqi. We also have the Braehmer vs. Krasniqi tale of the tape breakdown:
Having already cleaned up the Scandinavian light welterweight division, with victories over Danish rivals Kim Poulsen and Kasper Bruun, the London 2012 Olympian has set his sights on Europe’s elite. Here’s what Yigit has to say:
“Schwarzkopf is a capable fighter.
“He’s strong and his record speaks for itself. But I’m a better fighter and I will show that in the ring. I’ve already proven I’m the best in Scandinavia and now I’m going to prove I’m the best in Europe.
“I believe in myself. I know what I’m capable of and what I can achieve. I’m always looking towards the future. I want to be the best, I want to win world titles and this fight is another step forward for me.
“I’m excited! By beating Schwarzkopf I will prove that I belong amongst the best in Europe. To get a chance to do it on such a big show gives me even more motivation. On Saturday night, I’m going to show the German fans what I’m all about, and I guarantee they’re going to ‘Dig It’.”
