O’Shaquie Foster gained instant revenge at Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona as he regained the WBC super featherweight title with a split decision win against Robson Conceicao.

The pairs original meeting in July saw Conceicao (19-3-1, KO9) take a split decision win in controversial circumstances, as all of the stats pointed to a Foster (23-3, KO12) triumph, but the contest was a dour one.

Thankfully, the rematch was a much more watchable affair, with Foster starting out with much more intent, although the champion landed well to the body in the early going. The Brazilian was also working well off his jab, and some combinations found a home in the fourth. By round five though, Foster began to close the distance, and he was countering well, pushing Conceicao back in round seven as the tide started to turn.

Rounds were becoming difficult to score, although Foster found a beauty of a right hand that buckled Conceicao in round ten, but the visitor was able to take it and recover. Both were tiring, but Conceicao more than Foster, and the bout eventually went to the scorecards, where any method of outcome seemed possible.

Two scores of 115-113 for Foster ensured the title went back in his possession, with another judge scoring the fight the same for Conceicao.

Raymond Muratalla (22-0, KO17) enjoyed an early evening, as he took out Jesus Antonio Perez Campos (25-6, KO18) in just two rounds of their lightweight bout set for ten.

At featherweight, Yan Santana (13-0, KO12) impressed as he took a fourth round stoppage win against Eduardo Baez (23-7-2, KO9), a man only previously halted by Emanuel Navarrete. Santana dropped Baez with a sweeping right hand, and a volley of punches on the resumption saw the referee call a halt to the action.

Abraham Nova (23-3-1, KO16) is now winless in three contests, as he was held to a split draw by Humberto Galindo (14-3-3, KO11) over ten rounds at super featherweight. One judge scored 97-93 in Nova’s favour, but a second had it 96-94 for Gallindo. A third scorer couldn’t separate the two, tallying 95-95.

Jahi Tucker (13-1-1, KO6) took a stoppage win against Quilisto Madera (14-6, KO9) with just seconds remaining of their eight rounder at welterweight.

Unbeaten heavyweight Damian Knyba (14-0, KO8) scored a brutal one-punch third round knockout against Richard Lartey (16-7, KO13), and at super lightweight, Bryce Mills (17-1, KO6) forced Mike Ohan Jr (19-4, KO9) to retire after five rounds of a scheduled eight.

The sole six rounder came at heavyweight, where Ali Feliz (4-0, KO3) impressed, swarming all over Orlando Rashad Coulter (5-5, KO3) to take a second round stoppage.
