Thompson Boxing Promotions is proud to congratulate rising welterweight star Artemio “King” Reyes (11-1, 10 KOs) on his recent graduation from Riverside Community College with an Associates of Arts degree in Accounting.
But this is just the beginning of his journey, as he will continue his studies later this year at the California State University of San Bernardino.
This is no small feat for the thriving welterweight, since he is concurrently managing the family owned Tapatio Restaurant in Colton, California, while still training on a daily basis.
Reyes took over this role when his father was involved in a truck accident in 2008 that left him in a coma, and to pay homage to his father, he embroiders the belt of his boxing trunks with “4 Pops” as a symbol of his dedication and promise to his father to successfully conquer every challenge that he is confronted with in the ring and in life.
Reyes is stablemate to Thompson Boxing Promotions’s roster that contains fellow prospects Miguel Diaz (5-0,3 KOs), Jhon Ortega (5-0-1, 5 KOs), Sergio Nuñez (2-0-1, 2 KOs), Jonathan Arellano (8-0,-1, 1KO 1 KO), Daniel Roman (2-0-1, 1 KO), Efrain Esquivias (13-0, 9 KOs), Abraham Lopez (14-0, 10 KOs), Juan Carlos Burgos (26-1, 19 KOs), Danny Hernandez (10-0, 6 KOs), Yonnhy Perez (20-2-1, 14 KOs)., Jose Reynoso (14-2-1, 2 KOs) and Julio “The Kidd” Diaz (38-7, 27 KOs). As well as champions Timothy Bradley (27-0, 11 KOs) and Josesito Lopez (29-3, 17 KOs) and Mauricio Herrera (17-1, 7 KOs).
Witness Reyes in action this Friday, June 24 at The Doubletree Hotel in Ontario as he takes on a fighting lean machine in Louisiana’s Chris Gray (13-15, 1 KO) in six-round competition.
