Jack Cullen and Zak Chelli will meet in a ten round Super-Middleweight clash on August 22nd at Matchoom Fight Camp.
The clash has been added to the undercard of Dillian Whyte’s WBC interim Heavyweight World title defence against Alexander Povetkin, following the postponement of Martin Bakole’s bout against Sergey Kuzmin.
Former English Middleweight Champion, Cullen (18-2, 9 KOs) was stopped after eight thrilling rounds in an unsuccessful battle for Felix Cash’s Commonwealth Middleweight title last November, but bounced back with a swift second round stoppage over Tomas Andres Reynoso in March.
Chelli, (7-1, 3 KOs) a former Southern Area Super-Middleweight titlist, suffered a first defeat to Kody Davies last September, as he ventured up to Light-Heavyweight.
A win for Cullen or Chelli could set them on the path to big domestic fights with the likes of British and Commonwealth champion Lerrone Richards.
Matchroom have confirmed that further fights will be added the pay-per-view bill shortly, with Katie Taylor’s undisputed Lightweight rematch with Delfine Persoon and Luther Clay’s WBO Global Welterweight clash against Chris Kongo already announced.
