Newly-crowned IBF Cruiserweight Champion Steve “USS” Cunningham will travel to Canastota, NY this weekend to attend the Hall of Fame Induction Festivities. The 33-year-old regained his old title last Saturday when he stopped Troy Ross in his first fight under the promotional banner of Team Sauerland.
German promoter Wilfried Sauerland is among the “Class of 2010” alongside Jung-Koo Chang (South Korea), featherweight champion Danny “Little Red” Lopez (USA), manager Shelly Finkel (USA), referee / commissioner Larry Hazzard (USA), matchmaker Bruce Trampler (USA) and journalist Ed Schuyler (USA). “I am thrilled to return to Canastota,” Cunningham said. “There is nothing like the Hall of Fame Weekend. We will celebrate Mr. Sauerland´s induction and my victory over Ross in style before going back to the gym soon.”
WBO Cruiserweight Champion Marco “Captain” Huck will also travel from Germany to Canastota. Cunningham handed Huck his only loss to date, stopping him in the 12th round of their IBF Title fight in Germany in December 2007. Cunningham will be joined by his manager/wife Livvy.
