Curtis “Showtime” Stevens (27-5, 20 KOs) the 30-year old middleweight from Brownsville, Brooklyn has signed a new promotional deal with Main Events. Stevens originally signed with Main Events in February 2013.
During his first two years with the promotional outfit, he scored several victories earning him a challenge against Gennady Golovkin and made his DirecTV BKB debut against Gabriel Rosado.
Curtis’ fight against Tureano Johnson on April 4, 2014 was one of the most exciting contests of the NBCSN Fight Night series and a Fight of the Year contender. Stevens was losing on every judge’s scorecard until the tenth and final round when he knocked out Johnson with less than a minute remaining. In his BKB debut, Stevens knocked down current BKB Middleweight Champion Gabriel Rosado and battled him to a seven-round split draw. Rosado retained his belt, but Stevens is poised for a rematch.
Stevens had only this to say about his new deal, “Time to become champ!”
Main Events CEO Kathy Duva said, “We love Curtis. He’s such an exciting fighter. I’m so happy that he’s decided to remain with Main Events and we look forward to getting him back in the ring!”
