Boxng360’s heavyweight Joey Dawejko (7-0, 3 KOs) and middleweight Keandre Leatherwood (9-1-1, 6 KOs) fought this weekend at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Dawejko stopped his opponent Edwin Ranquillo (2-2, 1 KO), by means of fourth round knockout, while Leatherwood went the distance with Frankie Filippone (9-2-1, 2 KOs) and got a draw.
“I felt really good going into this fight,” said Joey Dawejko. “I was feeling him out early in the fight and started to find my spots as the fight went on. Once I had him hurt I knew I was going to get him out of there. I want to stay busy and my promoter Boxing360 is looking to get me back in the ring very soon. My goal is to get to 10-0 by the end of 2012.”
Said Leatherwood, “I thought I did enough to win the fight, but Filippone was the hometown fighter and he definitely got some love from the judges. I’m completely healthy and will be back in the ring as soon as Mario Yagobi has a fight lined up. I will most likely go back down to 154 and compete at Jr. Middleweight.”
