Oscar De La Hoya sent former rival Floyd Mayweather Jr an explosive message over his recent meet-up with Ryan Garcia.
Mayweather Jr, who beat Garcia’s promoter De La Hoya in 2007, was spotted running with the 25-year-old around Las Vegas recently.
Days later, Garcia who had publicly agreed to face WBC super lightweight champion, Devin Haney suddenly switched his attentions to WBA titlist, Rolly Romero, a decision which some suspect could have been the result of a conversation with Mayweather Jr, who promotes Romero.
Golden Boy Promotions CEO, De La Hoya appeared to react angrily to the link-up and seemingly follows the general consensus that Mayweather’s jog with Garcia coincided with the 25-year-old’s U-turn.
“Pre-run with Floyd = Ryan wants Haney. Post-run with Floyd = Ryan wants Rolly,” De La Hoya said on Instagram.
“Golden Boy has worked with Ryan Garcia since he turned pro and together, have made him the biggest draw in boxing.
“We will make his fight with Rolly into a huge event as we always do.
“Floyd, if you want to give Ryan the secret to defense in the ring, that’s great. Other than that, if you are still a promoter like it says here, f— off.”

Haney claimed the WBC crown in his first fight at 140lbs from Regis Prograis in December.
Garcia and ‘The Dream’ have already fought six times in the amateur ranks, although a meeting in the professional ranks is yet to materialise.
‘King Ry’ insists he should be the A-side in the fight, claiming that his compatriot did 35,000 pay-per-view buys against Prograis, whilst his showdown against Gervonta Davis in April reportedly did over 1m buys.
“Yeah, Devin lost his shot,” the Californian told Inside Fighting.
“He thought it was Haney-Garcia.
“He should have known it was Garcia-Haney.
“He did 35,000 pay-per-view buys. [He should fight] Richardson Hitchins.
“I’m helping him out, I’m giving him his next move.”
