Demetrius Hopkins returns this Saturday, Deontay Wilder & Luis Ramos Jr also on card

The stage is set for a hard-hitting night of action at the Hangar at the OC Fair & Event Center IN Orange County, Calif. on Saturday, September 8 when Demetrius Hopkins and Doel Carrasquilla head up an exciting undercard leading up to the FOX Sports Net and FOX Deportes doubleheader featuring Luis Ramos Jr. vs. Noe Bolaños and Deontay Wilder vs. Damon McCreary.

Returning to the ring for the first time since March of 2011, Demetrius “The Gladiator” Hopkins (30-2-1, 11 KO’s) is looking forward to resuming his promising career at 147 pounds tomorrow night against Doel Carrasquilla (16-21-1, 14 KO’s) of Fredericka, Delaware. A longtime standout at junior welterweight, the slick boxing 31-year-old from Philadelphia is the nephew of ageless future Hall of Famer Bernard Hopkins and obviously has the genes to extend his prime for many years. Now he wants to show the world that he’s back and here to stay. Carrasquilla, a tough 38-fight veteran who has been fighting professionally since 2001 will look to upset Hopkins’ return to the ring.

Also seeing action on the undercard will be Los Angeles’ Edgar Valerio making his professional debut against debuting Fernando Fuentes of Riverside, Calif. in a scheduled four round bantamweight fight. Another area prospect making his professional debut this Saturday is Santa Ana’s Jesus Gutierrez, who battles Las Vegas’ Rocco Espinoza (3-6) in a four round lightweight contest. Rounding out the card will be a six round junior lightweight battle pitting Santa Ana’s Jose Correa (7-2, 4 KO’s) against Phoenix’ Cesar Valenzuela (3-1-1, 1 KO).

Ramos vs. Bolaños is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and sponsored by Corona and DeWalt Tools. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. PT on fight night and the first bell rings at 6:00 p.m. PT. The FOX Sports Net and FOX Deportes bilingual simulcast will air live at 10:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. PT. FUEL TV will rebroadcast the fight on October 21 at 12:00 p.m. ET/9:00 a.m. PT.
