Nonito Donaire vs. Omar Narvaez – WBC & WBO Bantamweight Titles
- Donaire: 116.25 lbs
- Narvaez: 117 lbs
The Donaire-Narvaez weigh-in results were interesting because Donaire has been very public about his trouble making bantamweight, and his plans to immediately move up in weight after this fight. Coming in that low signals that he really cut down at the end of training camp or over the final 24 hours, and hopefully he didn’t drain himself too much and overshoot things there.
Meanwhile, Narvaez is generally viewed as much-smaller man, but came in as the heavier of the the two! Still, it’s likely he made weight with ease without having to cut much at all, and whether or not the difference between the two fighters in that regard shows up in the way the fight plays out remains to be seen.
Mikey Garcia vs. Juan Carlos Martinez
- Garcia: 125 lbs
- Martinez: 126.25 lbs
Not that it should make too much of a difference here – Mikey Garcia should trounce this guy in short order – but Martinez originally weighed in at 126.25 lbs, and then had an hour to make weight.
