On Saturday, July 9th, IBF Super Middleweight champion Lucian Bute’s (28-0-0, 23 KO) lifelong dream will become a reality. Lucian will defend his IBF title for an 8th consecutive time, this time in front of his Home Country fans of Romania, where he captured Athlete of the Year honors in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Lucian will lace up the gloves against fellow undefeated Super Middleweight boxer and IBF #1 rated Mandatory Challenger Jean-Paul Mendy (29-0-1 16 KO) from France. EuroPlus Computers S.R.L. going to be the lead organizer in collaboration with InterBox and Star Boxing.
Lucian Bute will be disputing his second bout of 2011, after having scored a 10th round TKO over a very game Brian Magee last March 19th in his Showtime Championship Boxing debut. The July 9th IBF title bout will be held outside Lucian’s Showtime contract and his American fans can count on seeing him again live in action this Fall. Lucian is overjoyed at the fact he will defend his title in Romania. “This is my dream come true.
