Caroline Dubois heads a BOXXER Breakthrough card at York Hall, Bethnal Green this Saturday night, and she vies for the vacant IBO lightweight title against Magali Rodriguez in the main event.

Sky Sports televise Dubois vs Rodriguez live in the UK.

Dubois (7-0, 5 KOs) has flourished so far as a professional after a solid amateur career. ‘Sweet Caroline’ won on points on debut, and stopped her next five opponents in some style, but last time she went the eight round distance for the first time, flooring Yanina del Carmen Lescano in the fifth on the way to a shutout win on the cards.

Mexico’s Rodriguez (22-6-4, 9 KOs) stands in the Londoner’s way of her first step on the world title ladder this weekend, and comes in with solid credentials as a former world title challenger.

The 31-year-old also comes to the capital on the back of an eye-catching result in her most recent fight, holding former IBO lightweight titlist, Estelle Mossely to a draw in defence of her WBC Silver super lightweight crown.

Prediction: Dubois is a special talent, and I can’t see her losing here. Rodriguez is tough though, and I expect the 22-year-old to go the distance to get her hand raised in what should be a clear points win.

Simpson meets Macias

Hot super middleweight talent, Callum Simpson (12-0, 9 KOs) appears on the bill, as the Barnsley native bides his time for a shot at the British title.

Prediction: The 26-year-old may need the distance to take the win against Jose de Jesus Macias (28-12-4, 14 KOs), with the Mexican only stopped once in a dozen defeats.

Riley-Quarless clash for English crown

Viddal Riley (9-0, 6 KOs) is a man that divides opinion, and after a pair of stoppage wins against Anees Taj, he can pick up his first professional belt, the vacant English cruiserweight title, by outpointing Nathan Quarless (12-0) over the ten round distance.

Remaining Undercard

Unbeaten Irish welterweight, Stephen McKenna (13-0, 12 KOs) faces a decent step up in class, going over a scheduled ten rounds for the first time, and he can score an impressive early win against Darren Tetley (22-4, 9 KOs), a man only halted once by Samuel Antwi in 2021.

Jeamie TKV (5-0, 3 KOs) gets another runout, and the heavyweight prospect should blast out Brazil’s Igor Adiel Macedo (11-1, 11 KOs) inside their schedule eight round distance.

Francesca Hennessy makes her professional bow, and should take a routine points win over six at super bantamweight against Poland’s Sonia Klos (1-8).
