Fresh off his scintillating first-round annihilation of Denis Grachev in the coveted Monte-Carlo Million Dollar Super 4 Tournament finale in Monaco this past Saturday, red-hot, top-rated super middleweight contender Edwin “La Bomba” Rodriguez (24-0, 16KO’s) will visit the ESPN Studios in Bristol, CT, Wednesday afternoon. Rodriguez will spend a few hours at the studios participating in a number of media activities and discussing his sensational victory from this past Saturday.
The WBC #3, WBA #3, IBF #3 and WBO #5-rated Rodriguez will also be featured on this evening’s live ESPN.com weekly boxing show “Making the Rounds” via Skype from his home in Worcester, MA, and will be ringside this Friday at Rockingham Park in Salem, NH, for this week’s edition of ESPN Friday Night Fights.
“Words cannot describe how I feel right now,” said a jubilant Rodriguez. “I am still just so excited. This was the biggest and most important win of my career and I feel absolutely amazing. I have waited a long time to get to this point in my career and now I am excited to see what the future holds.”
Regarding his upcoming visit, Rodriguez seemed to be equally as thrilled.
“I am really looking forward to visiting the studios. This will be my first time there, and I feel honored that they have asked me to come out. This is a great opportunity for me to touch base with the fans both here in the US and around the world.”
While Rodriguez is still on cloud nine from his recent victory, which carried a $600,000 grand prize, he is most happy to be back home with his family.
“I’m ecstatic to be home and to spend time with my children and my wife. I am especially happy to spend time with my three-month-old son and get to know him since I was in training camp right after his birth. We are headed to Disney World!”
Once Rodriguez returns home from his family vacation he will then begin discussions with promoter Lou DiBella who is already working on his next fight.
