Chris Eubank Sr has sensationally blasted his son Chris Jr just over a week out from his mammoth showdown against Conor Benn.

Over 30 years on from their fathers’ second meeting, Eubank Jr and Benn will lock horns at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next Saturday in one of the biggest grudge matches to ever take place on British shores.

Though there was already plenty of bad blood between the pair, tensions boiled over after a heated launch press conference in Manchester when ‘Next Gen’ slapped his rival across the face with an egg.

‘Next Gen’s father has had his say on the incident – and he’s not best pleased.

In an explosive interview with Seconds Out, Eubank branded his son “a disgrace” before adding “there’s no justification for that.”

“Junior, you’re smashing an egg against this guys face. I taught you that? I didn’t teach you that.

“Who taught you that? That is disgraceful. I’m going to be in your corner? You must be mad.

“I’ll never be in your corner, you’re a disgrace.

“You’re smashing an egg in someone’s face and you’re trying to justify it? There is no justification for that.

“There is nothing noble about that.”

The stunt, for which the Brighton man was fined £100,000 by the British Boxing Board of Control, was a jibe at Benn’s performance enhancing drugs case, during which it was once suggested by the WBC that over consumption of eggs was a “reasonable explanation” for the banned substance clomiphene being present in his system.

‘The Destroyer’ tested positive back in October 2022, which saw his original date with the Brighton man scrapped and led to over two-and-a-half years of animosity between the two family rivals.

Benn, the naturally smaller man, will jump up two weight classes to take on the 35-year-old at middleweight, though many feel a next day rehydration clause of 10lbs could level the playing field somewhat.
