Chris Eubank Jr has vowed to retire if he loses his grudge clash against Conor Benn next month.

Eubank Jr will face Benn in a rescheduled middleweight showdown at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 26.

Benn is moving up a weight class to challenge the Brighton man, who concedes his career will be all but over should he emerge unsuccessful.

“Yes [I will retire if I lose],” the 35-year-old said on Piers Morgan Uncensored.

“There is a point in every fighter’s life where they will reach where they can’t go any further.

“If I can’t beat Conor Benn now, then I’ve reached my ceiling, which is why this fight is so deathly important to me, because I don’t want to retire.

“I don’t want to give up.

“I don’t want to sail off into the sunset.

“I still have things to achieve.”

Despite this admission, Eubank Jr may be tempted to face the Essex man again, with the pair reportedly having a two-way rematch clause in their contract.

‘Next Gen’ was fined £100,000 by the British Boxing Board of Control for slapping his rival with an egg after the first of a two-city press conference tour to promote their clash.

In a statement the board said: “Following a hearing before the stewards of the British Boxing Board of Control, Chris Eubank Jr was found to be in breach of regulation 25 (misconduct) for his conduct at the press conference in Manchester for the Chris Eubank Jr v Conor Benn contest on 26th April 2025.

“As such, the stewards of the board fined Chris Eubank Jr the sum of £100,000.”

Eubank Jr seemed unfazed by the fine, posting on X: “Worth every penny.”

The pair were supposed to have fought in October 2022, but their bout was cancelled on fight week, after it emerged that Benn had failed a drugs test.

The 28-year-old had his temporary suspension lifted by the National Anti-Doping Panel in November and he is expected to reapply for his British licence, having relinquished it shortly after his positive test came to light.

The British duo will clash almost 35 years after their fathers met in the first of two memorable world title battles.
