As always after a big fight, it’s time to update our boxing divisional rankings. The big action from this weekend was the rematch between Juan Manuel Lopez and Orlando Salido. Also at featherweight, undefeated Mikey Garcia scored another impressive win. It’s long past due for him to face top-tier competition, but he continues to assert his place in the hierarchy of the 126 lbs scene.
At lightweight, this past weekend Ricky Burns decisively beat Paulus Moses. Burns has been on a nice run as of late, and has two impressive outings at 135 lbs since his debut there.
At flyweight, longtime champ Pongsaklek Wonjongkam lost in an upset, and that ruins his stranglehold on the division, and clears the way for guys like Brian Viloria to rise up and establish their own claims to the throne.
So, there’s been a lot of action in some of the hottest divisions in the sport. Be sure to view all of our updated boxing rankings to see where everything stands today. The big headlines come from the JuanMa Lopez vs. Salido II results, but there’s plenty of other names and results to take into consideration too. Take a look around and enjoy.
