Vincent Feigenbutz (21-1, 19 KOs) will defend his interim WBA Super Middleweight title on January 9 in a rematch with Giovanni De Carolis (23-6, 11 KOs) at the Baden Arena in Offenburg, Germany.
Feigenbutz won a closely contested points decision against De Carolis in their first fight on October 17 in Karlsruhe, but this time, the 20 year-old has promised an improved performance as he intends to leave the decision in no doubt.
‘’I wasn’t happy with my performance in our first fight,’’ said Feigenbutz. ‘’Things went wrong and I did not give a full account of myself. I offered Giovanni a direct rematch immediately after the fight and I have stayed true to my word. This time, I will prove once and for all that I’m the better boxer, and there will be no question over the result!’’
Promoter Kalle Sauerland has expressed his delight at making the World Championship rematch following the super middleweight’s action-packed clash in October.
‘’Their first fight was 12 rounds of pure action,’’ said Sauerland. ‘’It was one of the most exciting fights we have seen in Germany for many years. On January 9, we go again, and I’m sure we are in for another explosive encounter.’’
