Though around three decades separate their respective heydays, a fantasy match-up between Mike Tyson and Tyson Fury has been repeatedly discussed by fight fans in recent years.
So admired was Tyson by Fury’s father John that he actually decided to name his son after him, a decision that proved prophetic as the Morecambe man would go on to match his namesakes achievement of becoming a two-time heavyweight champion of the world.
A showdown between ‘Iron Mike’ and ‘The Gypsy King’ is one of the more fascinating cross-generational clashes due to the vast physical differences between the pair, with the latter standing almost a full foot taller.
However, Frank Bruno – who suffered two stoppage defeats to Tyson – believes that would not matter.
Speaking to DAZN, Bruno explained that he would favour his former opponent to overcome Fury if the pair met at their best.
“Mike Tyson when he was 19, 20 he was a dangerous individual.
“Both of them at their peak, I’m sorry, Mike Tyson.
“I like Tyson Fury, he would give him a run for his money here and there but Mike Tyson, 20, 21, 22, he was a dangerous human being.
“But it ain’t gonna be easy for small Tyson cause big Tyson would be using his weight. But I think Mike’s combinations would be a bit fast for him.”

Differences in height and weight can be overcome, as Fury found out when he fell short against former cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk in their historic undisputed bout back in May.
The 36-year-old will get the chance to exact revenge over the Ukrainian later this year, with a rematch scheduled to take place on December 21.
And Tyson, despite approaching 60-years-old, is also due to take part in one of the biggest fights of the year in November, as he takes on brash YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul at the AT&T Stadium, with a crowd of 80,000 expected to turn out.
