Former world female flyweight champion Kenia Enriquez will hold her 2nd Annual All-Female Amateur Boxing Invitational Tournament on the weekend of March 26th and 27th, 2016 at the new home for Tijuana boxing, the Perro Salado Sports Hall in the Zona Rio of Tijuana, Baja California Norte, Mexico.
Enriquez, who also held the NABF junior flyweight title in 2014, fought over 70 times as an amateur and won bronze at the Mexican Nationals in 2011.
“This is my way of giving back to the Tijuana boxing community which has always given me their support,” the twenty-two year old Enriquez stated. “The first tournament we held last year was a huge success so we are looking to make it even bigger this year.”
The 2nd Annual Kenia Enriquez All-Female Invitational Tournament will open up to the rest of the state after more than twenty young women participated last year. With the support of the WBAN.com, the WBC and Enriquez’s promoter Bobby D. Presents among other sponsors, the tournament was able to bring together a number of young ladies who are beginning in the sport they love. Enriquez hopes to continue to give them the support and motivation they need and deserve while serving as an inspiration of what can be achieved through hard work and dedication.
Enriquez is looking for donations to raise the funds for the medals, mini belts, t-shirts and certificates that will be awarded during the tournament to all the winners and participants. Donations can be made here: https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/416O33/ab/a5VGu9
